Rochfords go Bronze!!

At the Shotokan Cup in Chesterfield last week, among those who did especially well on the day were Richard Bertie who came away with a Bronze medal. It was in the earlier elimination rounds that we saw a glimpse of Richard's devastating speed power and ultimate control, delivering a combination that had the crowd bursting into instant applause and his opponent congratulating him (presumably for not taking his head off with the mawashi geri jodan that was just delivered to his head). Daniel Almassi only returned a few months ago and has carried on where he left off with his winning ways. In his second competition he picked up another Bronze medal for Rochfords. Miles Stovold made it through two rounds of the senior kumite as did Daniel Charles, Rohan Verma and Sheldon Morgan in their categories.

Richard kept up his record of getting to the semi finals of the Kata and was again unlucky not to have got better marks for what I thought was a very solid kata, hey! I am only a little biased.Thank you to all the squad for their continual dedication : it does not go unnoticed!
