Well Done

Well done to all the students who took part in the last KYU grading at the Club.

I hope all students will work especially hard so that they will be able to grade at the end of the Year.

First Dan grading at Rochfords

The first Black belt grading at Rochfords will take place at the Club on Sunday 26th November from 10.00 am to 11.30 am. Sensei R.A.Bertie will take the grading.

I hope all first Kyu's will use this time to get them selves in shape for the grading date.

Kyu Grading

The third and last grading for the year will be held at Rochfords Dojo by Sensei R.A.Bertie on Sunday 3rd December from 10.00 am to 11.30 am. Please make sure your Licence is up to date and your record and grading book has been signed and passport photo inserted in the correct page.

Shotokan Cup

All Rochfords finals

Both Karan and Piers defeated all comers at the KUGB Shotokan cup on Saturday 16th of September, which was held in Chesterfield.

This meant that they would have to compete against each other for Gold and Silver medals.

After three long minutes of fighting and an extension no clear winner emerged so it was left to the referrers to decide who they thought did the most attacking techniques, in this case Piers was declared the winner but it could have gone either way well done to both students.

Richard got to the last eight in Kata and narrowly missed out in the Kumite.

Daniel was not on his usual form and Amina got through two rounds in the ladies Kumite Well done Rochfords.

I am sure the seniors would agree with me on this occasion that the juniors kept the Clubs un beaten record of winning a medal at all major competitions we take part in.

Long may it Continue.

RSKC 24th Annual Competition

Will take place at Rochfords Hall on Sunday 10th December. The eliminations will start at 10.00am with a half hour break from 12.00-12.30. We hope to finish by about 4.00 pm

*Please note* To All Intermediate and senior Competitors, it will be compulsory to wear gum shields and Groin guards for all Kumite events. All competitors must demonstrate the highest level of control and behaviour. Competitors are reminded a risk of injury in all Kumite events.

I hope all parents and friends will support the club and its students by attending and giving encouragement to all.

There will also be a raffle with proceeds going to 'Cancer Research UK'. If Any one would like to contribute to the raffle by way of donating a prize to be raffled please get in touch with me.

I am hoping to beat last years total which was 150.

Christmas Break

The Club will close for a Christmas Break on Sunday 17th December 2006 and return on Sunday the 7th January 2007. I wish all Parents and Students a very Happy Christmas and a great New Year.
